One of the most unexpected gifts of recent years has been discovering the world of online communities.
If you had told me when I started seminary that one day I'd be building communities of my own, learning about entrepreneurship, and even traveling to Los Angeles for a mastermind with online community leaders, I don't think I would have believed you. Looking back, I can see God's gentle leading through each step.

Seminary deepened my love for Scripture, spiritual formation, and caring for souls. It shaped how I understand ministry, and every rhythm I teach and every word I write still carries the fingerprints of that formation.
Building an online community required more than what I learned in seminary. It also meant learning a whole new set of skills: websites, email sequences, memberships, technology, AI, marketing, and more. I've been grateful to learn from generous entrepreneurs and community builders who have spent years figuring out what it takes to create something sustainable and life-giving.
That journey eventually led me to Skool, where my spiritual formation communities, For the Rest of Us and Reading for the Soul, now live. The greatest surprise was the beautiful people I've gotten to know, both in the spaces I've created and in the wider Skool community. In the communities I've joined, I've connected with people whose backgrounds and experiences are very different from mine. Some share my faith. Many don't. What they share is a generosity in teaching what they know and a genuine desire to help others build something meaningful.
A few months ago, one of those connections led to an invitation to contribute to the Community to Cashflow Bundle, a free event for midlife women building businesses, communities, and meaningful work. It includes over 100 resources on AI, marketing, business systems, and community building.
Nestled among them is my contribution Sacred Pauses, a short guide with five simple ways to slow down and be with Jesus throughout your day. My prayer is that it reminds you that Jesus meets us not only in our moments of rest, but also in the meaningful work He’s entrusted to us.
If you're a midlife woman building something, or you know one who is, I think you'll find plenty to explore in the bundle. And I hope Sacred Pauses encourages you to make room for Jesus in the middle of whatever you're building, right in the pockets of your day.
